Do Not Confuse Northcc.net with Satellite Internet Service. Due to the long round-trip that signals must travel, satellite Internet suffers from very high latency, which can adversely affect certain types of Internet use -- real-time gaming, for example. This high latency also causes web pages to lag when they load.  Wireless (like Northcc.net's) has latency ("ping" time) comparable to cable Internet and DSL, typically on the order of 40 ms or less. Satellite latency is typically on the order of 800-1200 ms and Satellite is also affected by weather much the same as Satellite Television. Satellite Internet Service should be a last resort, never a first choice. Check with us before you even consider Satellite Internet Service.
